A group of astronomers “Le sagra” from Spain gave the honor to the Astronomical Society “Orion” to name the newly discovered asteroid “Sarajevo”, announced today in Sarajevo the astronomer Muhamed Muminović.
He announced this at the presentation of the 37th edition of the scientific-popular magazine on nature, mankind and ecology Fondeko Svijet, writes Fena.
Asteroid “Sarajevo” was not discovered by astronomers from B&H but this honor was given to them since they celebrate this year the 50th anniversary of modern astronomy.
This is the first time in history that a celestial body has become connected with B&H.
