The Ambassador of Austria to BiH, Martin Pammer, won the first ski-race of ambassadors, which was organized by the Olympic Center “Jahorina” and the Embassy of the UK in BiH, on the ski trail Poljice.

Deputy Head of Mission of the Council of Europe in BiH Toni Pavlovski was second, while the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to BiH, Jakub Skalnik, occupied the third place.

Ambassador Pammer said that he loves to ski in BiH and that he never won the first place on similar events in his homeland.

British Ambassador Edward Ferguson noted that he started skiing again at the beginning of his service in BiH and that he gladly accepted to be the co-organizer of the first ski-race of ambassadors.

He also noted that BiH has great potential when it comes to ski-tourism, and he expressed his hope that the ski-race of ambassadors could become a regular event.

Director of the Olympic Center “Jahorina” Dejan Ljevnaic expressed his gratitude to the British Ambassador on his help to organize this important event, whose aim is achieving greater cooperation of all the relevant factors that can make a great prosperity with the promotion of Sarajevo mountains on the domestic and international markets.

According to him, Jahorina had around 100 guests last year at the end of March , and this year there are 20,000 of them.

Graeme Higgs, the director of the British-BH company “Ski-Sarajevo”, stated that Sarajevo represents a great potential due to the vicinity of mountains Jahorina and Bjelasnica, as well as the airport.
