The object D-0 ARK, also known as Tito’s bunker or atomic shelter that is located in Konjic, should be renovated in about six months.

“The beginning of works on the renovation and reconstruction of facades and roofs on three camouflage buildings is planned in the upcoming period,” said Ajla Greda, the director of the Agency for economic development “First Step” from Konjic.

She also noted that all of the already mentioned works will be conducted without any change on the authenticity and functionality of this object, and that the arrangement of the backyard of this object is planned as well. Deadline for realization of the project is 6 months.

This project represents just the first phase of the expansion of the tourist offer of the facility, which also implies creation of the conditions for opening of a souvenir shop and cafeteria for the visitors of the facility. This project is partly financed by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection of HNC in the total amount of 4.000,00 BAM, and the participation of the Agency “First Step” Ltd.

“Considering the uniqueness of this object, its ambience, its historical importance at the local, regional and world level, it is clear that this is an extraordinary potential, especially when it comes to the field of tourism,” noted Greda.

An important fact is that Tito’s bunker was visited by about 13,500 visitors from different parts of the world and regional countries in the period from March 1, to December 31, 2017, and they were really impressed with the object and all the art installations.
