aidThe city of Sarajevo, together with the Government of Sarajevo Canton and the FBiH, sent an aid to Macedonia in the form of technical support for cleaning streets and households, high-pressure pumps for pumping mud and fire trucks due to the devastating floods that have recently affected this country.

Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka agreed this aid in cooperation with the Prime Ministers of the Government of the FBiH and Canton Sarajevo, Fadil Novalic and Elmedin Konakovic.

It is expected for all the necessary procedures  to be completed in a short period of time in order for this aid to be sent for Skopje. Sarajevo and Skopje are connected by traditional friendly, partnership relations that were formalized with the Cooperation Agreement that was signed in 2007.

“The city of Sarajevo did not forget the assistance that the city of Skopje sent during the floods in May 2014 when they sent a team of six firefighters together with the vehicle and the necessary equipment,” said Deputy Mayor Abdulah Skaka, and sent sincere and profound sympathy to the Mayor Koce Trajanovski and the citizens of Skopje on behalf of officials and citizens of Sarajevo.

“The city of Sarajevo shares the sorrow and pain with the families of victims in the catastrophic floods that affected Skopje and other cities in Macedonia after the unremembered storm. Our thoughts are with the citizens of Skopje and the people of Macedonia,” said Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka.
