Award Ceremony tonight in National Theatre

27th Sarajevo Film Festival Award Ceremony will be held tonight at 20:00 in National Theatre, immediately after the Red Carpet ceremony which starts at 19:30.

The audience will be able to follow the Award Ceremony via the national public broadcaster BHRT. Films from the Competition Programme – Feature Film, Competition Programme – Documentary Film, Competition Programme – Short Film and Competition Programme – Student Film will be crowned with the prestigious Heart of Sarajevo Award. This year’s Competition Programme – Feature Film presented ten films, out of which two world and eight regional premieres. 

In the selection Competition Programme – Documentary Film, the audience had a chance to watch 16 films, out of which eight world, one European, six regional and one BH. premiere. The Competition Programme – Short Film offered viewers ten films, out of which four world and six regional premieres. The Competition Programme – Student Film selection consisted of twelve films, out of which four world, three international and five regional premieres. 

In addition to the Heart of Sarajevo for the best films in the competition programs, the Heart of Sarajevo for the best director, the Heart of Sarajevo for the best actor and actress, and the CineLink awards will also be awarded. As part of this year’s awards ceremony, the winner of the Special Award for Promoting Gender Equality will be announced, the new award of Sarajevo Film Festival for female directors.

Films and directors eligible for the Special Award for Promoting Gender Equality are not limited to Competition strands and include other programmes and territories as well, provided that the film is the director’s first feature film.
