Jasmin Buljubašić from Srebrenik discovered a very valuable archaeological site at the locality of Markuše, Srebrenik Municipality.
Around fifty objects made of bronze (axes, needles, sickles and the like) were found. The found objects date back to the Bronze Age and their estimated age is between 3.000 and 3.200 years, i.e. they were made between 1.200 and 1.000 B.C.
According to the first analyses, these objects can be categorized as tools and weapons used in the territory of the northern Bosnia and Slavonija during the mentioned period. This discovery complemented the mosaic of a very dynamic and lively Bronze Age in this area, stated the Municipality of Srebrenik.
This is one of the most significant collections found after the war at the territory of BiH and it is unprecedented in the post-war archaeological science of the Tuzla Canton. The objects will be handed over to the Srebrenik Municipality today for the needs of the local museum collection.
