Azerbaijan has allocated financial assistance of 200,000 euros to support reconstruction work in areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina that were hit by catastrophic floods and landslides in early October.

“As the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan emphasized during his official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina last year, Azerbaijan has shown a reliable example of friendship by providing humanitarian assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina at various times,” the Embassy of Azerbaijan in BiH stated.

It is added that in 2014, Azerbaijan also sent humanitarian aid worth 336 thousand US dollars to people affected by floods as a result of the natural disaster in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“In 2020, in order to support Bosnia and Herzegovina during the COVID-19 pandemic, Azerbaijan provided humanitarian assistance worth $244,000, consisting of medical and hygiene products, and humanitarian financial assistance worth $588,000. In 2021, Azerbaijan also sent 40,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines worth $160,000 to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” they stated.

They emphasized that as an indicator of the increasingly strong development of friendly and partnership relations between the two countries, as well as relations in various fields, Azerbaijan provided financial assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster.
