KINGThe famous American blues guitarist and musician B.B. King passed away today at the age of 89. Bosnia and Herzegovina also hosted the king of blues, when he performed for the representatives of the NATO forces in Tuzla just after the end of the war, in 1996.

As a part of his European tour, B.B. King visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1996, to perform in front of the representatives of the NATO forces, who were in B&H at that time.

“This is a special moment for me, I’m honored to have the opportunity to be here. I want to meet people and make them happy”, he told the American press in Tuzla. This musician during his career, had the opportunity to travel around the world and perform in front of thousands of people.

“I am proud to be an American. These soldiers here give their utmost and do the best they can”, said King, who was a soldier himself in 1948.

In Tuzla, he performed in front of nearly 600 members of the NATO forces, and opened the concert with the song, “Let the Good Times Roll”, followed by some of his greatest hits: “Nobody’s Business”, “Nobody Loves Me But My Mother” and “The Thrill is Gone”.

“This is exactly what we needed. There’s nothing better than blues to bring people closer in difficult times. Listening to him, I feel like listening to a good friend. He’s the king of the blues because he sings from the heart. I kiss the ground he walks on”, said one of the soldiers of NATO.
