banja-luka-airportActing Director General of the Belgrade airport “Nikola Tesla”, Sasa Vlaisavljevic, said that Banja Luka Airport has the potential to become the most competitive in the region, with certain investments.

Vlaisavljevic stated that Banja Luka Airport, except for regular air traffic, could become a regional destination for low-cost airlines.

He said that this could be achieved through future strategic partnership of two airports, which should be realized through investments in infrastructure, as well as further commercialization of Banja Luka Airport, on which should decide the Government of the RS and the Government of Serbia.

Vlaisavljevic said that at the meeting with the President of the National Assembly of the RS Nedeljko Cubrilovic, and then with the President of the RS Milorad Dodik in early May, it was agreed that the leadership of the two airports will prepare concrete projects of implementation of strategic partnerships and the development of air transport.

The Acting Director of Airport “Nikola Tesla”, said that the Banja Luka Airport, with further commercialization and providing more regular lines, also needs capacity expansion and reconstruction of the terminal building, as well as investments in the modernization of equipment, technology and infrastructure capacity.
