The Mayor of Banja Luka celebrated yesterday with Bosniak families from this city who are celebrating Eid. He ate baklava with them, but also shared the eidi, the Eid money, as he claims.

On the occasion of Bajram, Stanivukovic talked with the Banja Luka Mufti Nusret Abdibegovic, after which he visited few families from Banja Luka who were celebrating yesterday.

“Baklava, eidi, and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr…,” he wrote on social networks.

He further adds that he enjoyed yesterday’s socializing and conversation with the families from Banja Luka.

“I would like to thank the hosts for having me, for introducing us to the beautiful customs, but also for sending together a strong message that Banja Luka is a safe city, a city where we can all live together,” as he told.

Considering that baklava is usually a part of the Eid table, Stanivukovic had to mention it, and he also boasted that he divided the Eid money to the families he visited.

“This is just the beginning of a beautiful and long tradition, but also friendly relations,” he concluded in a post on social media, Klix.ba writes.
