Barbed Wire and Candles near the Embassy of Hungary in Sarajevo

Protests Hungarian Embassy radiosarajevo.baAround twenty citizens spontaneously gathered last night in front of the headquarters of the Hungarian Embassy in Sarajevo in order to pay tribute to the suffering refugees and condemn the attitude of that country towards this vulnerable population category.

The convolution was protected by the police that did not allow the gathered to set barbed wire around the Embassy, which was their original plan.

Instead of that, they have symbolically set this wire across the building in the Sarajevo neighborhood Grbavica and lighted candles for the souls of those who lost their lives on the way to a better life, but also as a sign of support for those who are forced to escape from their homes in a fight for their bare lives.

Such gatherings attended by children as well were organized last night in Belgrade and Skopje also.

Meanwhile, the Hungarian authorities have cracked under pressure and allowed the transfer of refugees and migrants from the Middle East across that country. Austria and Germany opened their doors to the refugees who are just a part of the largest humanitarian crisis Europe has seen ever since the disintegration of Yugoslavia.

However, the Hungarians have set the barbed wire fence on the border with Serbia, and introduced a law according to which its cutting or any kind of removal is punishable.
