The “Bascarsija Nights 2019” Festival, which after nearly a quarter of a century has grown into one of the biggest summer cultural festivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be opened tonight.
The Festival will officially be opened with the concert of the String Orchestra and soloist of the Sarajevo Academy of Music Academy, which will be held in the large hall of the Bosnian Cultural Center starting at 20:00 o’clock.
This year’s concert at the opening of “Bascarsijske Nights” will be a sign of cooperation with the Sarajevo Academy of Music.
Teachers, assistants, alumni and current students of the Academy of Music in Sarajevo, performing works composed by great world authors: Gustav Holst St. Paul, Edvard Grieg, Johann Sebastian Bach / Hanan Hadzajlic and Petar Iljic Tchaikovsky will be presented.
It is announced that during the festival, which will last until July 31, 26 programs will be held, where artists from BiH, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Holland, Indonesia and Iran will participate.
The festival encompasses most of the activities in the field of culture and art – classical, pop, rock music, theater performances, folklore ensembles’ concerts, art exhibitions and exhibitions of calligraphy works, and various music-scene programs for children.
Thus, as the organizers said, the Festival has been contributing to the cultural and tourist offer of the city of Sarajevo for 24 years.
Director of the Bosnian Cultural Center Sarajevo Canton Edin Kukavica noted that all programs are free of charge.
