National football team of BiH will be playing friendly matches with Luxembourg and Switzerland on the 25th and 29th of March. Head coach Mehmed Bazdarevic invited 25 players for these matches.
The public was interested the most to find out how many new players will be on the list, as well as if any of the players who have been wearing jersey of the national team for a long time, will end their representative carrier. When it comes to players who were invited for the first time, they are Mateo Susic, Daniel Graovac and Haris Duljevic, while from players that we are used to see, this time will be missing Mensur Mujdza, Haris Medunjanin and Izet Hajrovic. These are also the biggest changes in the list of selector Bazdarevic.
Even though these are friendly matches, they are very important to Bazdarevic.
“We’ll give the opportunity to play to those who have not had too much space before, but meetings with Luxembourg and Switzerland are very important to us, even though they are friendly. We need a strong and firm first step to immediately show everybody what we want, and that we are serious and maximum engaged. Everyone invited must be 100% dedicated to team. Without calculations. Form, discipline and desire are the criteria that will be taken into account during the selection of national team players,” said Bazdarevic.
“Due to injuries of several players, we were a little bit late with the publication of the list. We left two young players, Bajic and Hodzic, at the disposal of coach of ‘U-21’ national team because they have qualification match. Mujdza, Medunjanin and Hajrovic did not get invitations to these meetings, but this does not mean that they are written off, we know how much they’re worth, and when they settle down in their clubs, we will count on them. We are also monitoring Vrsajevic, as well as young players like Muris Mesanovic, Krunic and Kodro,” said Bazdarevic.
National team players will gather on the 23rd of March in Luxembourg.
