The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, spoke yesterday in London with the United Kingdom (UK) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development, James Cleverly, and the UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Stuart Peach, about the moves of the authorities of the Republika Srpska (RS), which threaten the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of BiH.

Becirovic pointed out the danger of destabilization of BiH and the region due to the dangerous anti-Dayton activities of the authorities of the RS.

The member of the Presidency of BiH emphasized that the claim that the policy of the RS entity is primarily a security and not a political problem has proven to be correct. and said that the president of the RS should be removed before he causes destabilization of the country and the region.

“It is better to dismiss Milorad Dodik than to allow his politics to existentially threaten the citizens and peoples of BiH,” said Becirovic.

He also emphasized that it is extremely important that a world superpower like the UK stands firmly by BiH and its citizens.

Cleverly stated that the UK’s interest was to preserve peace and respect the Dayton Peace Agreement.

He pointed out that his country’s commitment to democratic forces and the future of BiH is unquestionable and that the UK will take additional steps towards stabilizing the situation in this part of Europe.

Peach emphasized that the UK, as a witness to the Dayton Peace Agreement, is an ally of BiH and announced that it will continue to support the preservation of independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH.

He added that his country supports the Euro-Atlantic path of BiH and the strengthening of institutional cooperation.

Becirovic expressed his gratitude to the Government of the UK for its continuous engagement in BiH and the aid programs for economic reforms, strengthening democracy, and reforming the rule of law.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that the UK will continue to provide strong support in the coming period in order to strengthen security and ensure the democratic development of the country, announced the Cabinet of BiH Presidency member Denis Becirovic.
