The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, spoke today with the new commander of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Laszlo Sticz, and on this occasion wished him a welcome and a successful mandate in our country.

Bećirović called on EUFOR to consistently implement the UN Security Council Resolution, which defines EUFOR’s key tasks in BiH, including protecting the independence of sovereignty, territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing full support to the Office of the High Representative in BiH, and guaranteeing the security of the return process and returnees.

He also pointed to the important role of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a guarantor of stability and security, especially at a time when separatist forces are growing stronger in our country.

The commander of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed his complete commitment to the execution of the “Althea” mission and said that he will continue the work of his predecessor in strengthening EUFOR’s military capabilities and providing support to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that in his actions he will represent the fundamental principles on which the Mission is based and work to preserve peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the conversation, he pointed out the importance of the presence of international military forces.

Bećirović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to peace and preserving a stable environment for all citizens, as well as the Euro-Atlantic perspective.

Let us remind you that on January 31, 2024, Major General Sticz took over command of the EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina from Major General Helmut Habermayer, Klix.ba writes.
