BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović stated today that the Presidency, at the proposal of the BiH Ministry of Defense, unanimously adopted decisions at extraordinary sessions held on December 27 to engage the BiH Armed Forces with the associated assets and crews in the mission of clearing huge snowdrifts from roads in populated areas, namely: the municipalities of Drvar, Kotor Varoš, Kneževo and the City of Banja Luka – Manjača region, and in the area of the Mrkonjić Grad municipality.
He added that the BiH Presidency, as the Supreme Command of the BiH Armed Forces, has acted responsibly and in a timely manner in all cases of natural disasters and other catastrophes to date, and has made the necessary decisions to engage the BiH Armed Forces.
Bećirović emphasized that, based on the decisions of the BiH Presidency, the BiH Armed Forces have proven through concrete, dedicated and courageous actions that they are equipped and capable of providing assistance to all endangered local communities throughout the state territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He stated that in 2024, the Presidency of BiH held more than 30 sessions, at which decisions were unanimously made on the engagement of the Armed Forces of BiH for the purpose of providing assistance to civilian authorities in responding to natural disasters and other catastrophes throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bećirović emphasized that, in accordance with the Law on Defense of BiH, the prescribed chain of command, as well as defined procedures, and based on the aforementioned decisions of the Presidency of BiH, the Armed Forces of BiH have efficiently carried out all assigned tasks, and have proven that they truly and professionally serve all citizens of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Presidency of BiH announced.
