Becirovic: The Roots of BiH cannot be uprooted by transient Politicians

Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović organized a reception on the occasion of BiH Statehood Day, and Bećirović said on that occasion that BiH is one of the oldest European countries, whose roots are extremely strong and deep.

“They cannot be uprooted by small and fleeting politicians because even much bigger and stronger forces than them could not,” said Bećirović.

He pointed out that it is necessary to pay particular attention to the equality of all languages and, in this context, to protect the Bosnian language from denial.

“For the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is extremely important to preserve and respect all languages. We must invest much more in education, science, culture and art. This is where the inexhaustible strength of Bosnia and Herzegovina lies,” said Bećirović.

He pointed out that millions of Bosnians and Herzegovinans, all over the world, should be proud of BiH, its statehood, stability, history and heroes.

“BiH and its defenders have never been convicted of having attacked someone or of having committed genocide, that is why it is inadmissible for BiH to be attacked by those who glorify convicted war criminals for committed genocide. We are legalists and we do not threaten anyone, so we can freely say that it is absolutely inadmissible that the leaders of the BiH entity RS are threatening the independent, sovereign and indivisible state of BiH,” said a member of the BiH Presidency.

He reminded that Bosnia and Herzegovina has existed for more than a thousand years and that the state existed even without entities, and he said that entities never existed and will never exist outside the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina have character and pride. We best understand the threatened and disenfranchised, because we went through the calvary of the 1990s. That’s why I once again strongly condemn the killing of innocent civilians in the Middle East and Ukraine. There are no more or less valuable human lives. Civilized people regret they sympathize with the families of the victims, regardless of their religious, ethnic or other affiliation. We are all on this planet just a small and transient grain in the infinite universe and we should defend civilizational values together,” said Bećirović.

He called on everyone to protect their state of Bosnia and Herzegovina when it is threatened, as well as to build a more positive social environment.

“Let’s develop and build relations with all friendly countries on all meridians and parallels. Let’s never endanger the Euro-Atlantic path of our country. Moving towards NATO and the EU is our strategic commitment. There is no serious alternative to that commitment. If I had to be the last man in to our country who says that, I would do it again. It is of fateful importance for the survival of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Bećirović.

In the end, he said that BiH has been protected for centuries and will continue to do so in the times to come.

“Ours is what was recognized by the whole world and what was permanently sealed in the UN on May 22, 1992. On that day, 175 countries of the world accepted our country and their family and confirmed international recognition under the name of the Republic of BiH. To be precise , what is ours belongs to all citizens and peoples of BiH, all together and no one individually, because no one has the right to break what is common,” said Bećirović, concluding that there is only one certificate in the UN, only one address – state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, AA reports.
