Becirovic told Sattler: BiH at a turning point, Dodik must not be allowed to…

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, spoke with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) in BiH, Johann Sattler, about the current situation in BiH.

Denis Becirovic pointed out to Ambassador Johann Sattler the anti-constitutional and anti-Dayton activities of the authorities of the Republika Srpska (RS) and said that it is also necessary for the competent international institutions to urgently take the necessary steps to protect the constitutional order in BiH.

On that occasion, he also handed Ambassador Satler the White Book of anti-Dayton acts of the authorities of the BiH entity RS and called on the EU to take concrete steps with the aim of preserving peace and security in BiH, including increasing the number of EUFOR soldiers in BiH.

“Domestic and international representatives must not turn a blind eye to the fact that an unprecedented attack on the constitutional order of BiH and the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement is still ongoing. Without returning to the framework of constitutionality and legality, it is impossible to seriously resolve any issue in our country. This must be the number one priority for both international and domestic officials. The EU is one of the witnesses of the Dayton Peace Agreement and has an international obligation to preserve peace and security in BiH and the region,” Becirovic emphasized.

Denis Becirovic expressed his full commitment to speeding up BiH’s European path, noting that he himself initiated a series of activities aimed at dynamizing that path.

“Nevertheless, at this moment, all domestic and international officials must focus on defending the constitutional order of the state as a fundamental precondition for preserving peace and stability. BiH is at a major turning point. The International Community must not allow Dodik, by buying time and tactical moves to divert attention from the attack on the constitutional order, to collapse the institution of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) and the Constitutional Court of BiH, because that would be the introduction to a state of anarchy with unforeseeable consequences,” underlined Becirovic.

During the conversation, Ambassador Johhan Sattler said that BiH should speed up the process of European integration. He pointed out that we should stop with policies that destabilize the situation in BiH and devote ourselves to solving the life issues of the citizens of BiH. The EU is a friend who is extending their hand and BiH politicians should accept it.
