The young Swedish driver with Bosnian roots, Dino Beganović, achieved extraordinary success on the Spa-Francorchamps track, one of the most demanding in the calendar.
In a thrilling Formula 2 sprint race, the Ferrari academy member and DAMS Lucas Oil team driver secured third place.
Beganović already showed in the qualifications that he is ready for a big result, winning an excellent sixth starting place, which hinted at a competitive pace. In the sprint race itself, which was run for 18 laps, he showed maturity and speed, writes Nethr.
The key moment happened in the tenth lap when he overtook Sebastian Montoya with a precise and decisive maneuver and took the third position. He held that position until the end of the race, behind winner Joshua Dürksen and second-place Martinius Stenshorn. This result, which earned him an important six points in the overall standings, is not his only highlight of the season, considering that he also celebrated victory in the sprint race in Baku earlier.
After the race, Beganović did not hide his satisfaction.
“It feels good to be back in the top ten. I was sixth in qualifying yesterday. It feels good to be good and fighting for places on the podium,” he told the media. The success at the Ardennes track, where he previously achieved victories in lower categories such as Formula Regional and Formula 3, is a significant boost for the young driver.
