Ben-Gvir supported Trump’s Idea of relocating Palestinians from Gaza: The Government should encourage it

In a video message, the leader of the radical right-wing Israeli party Otzma Yehudit, Itamar Ben–Gvir, expressed his support for the United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump’s proposal to relocate part of Gaza’s population to Jordan and Egypt, either temporarily or permanently.

“I commend the President of the U.S., Donald Trump, for his initiative to relocate the residents of Gaza to Egypt and Jordan. Over the past year, we in Otzma Yehudit have repeatedly called for encouraging voluntary relocation. I believe that when the president of the world’s greatest power presents this idea himself, the Israeli government should now promote the encouragement of relocation,” Ben–Gvir stated.

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke about the situation in the Gaza Strip, saying that Jordan and Egypt should accept a larger number of refugees from this Palestinian enclave.

Trump had previously suggested this solution for the large number of refugees from Gaza during direct talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah.

“I told him he needs to take in more people because the situation down there is a disaster. I would like him to accept more refugees,” Trump said.

He reiterated this when speaking to gathered reporters while leaving the presidential plane, although he added that Egypt should do the same.

“Everything down there is destroyed, and people are dying. I’d rather work with Arab nations to build settlements so that these people can, for a change, live in peace,” the U.S. president said.

When asked whether this would be a temporary or permanent solution, Trump replied, “It can be both.”, Klix.ba writes.
