The boy Benjamin Mehanovic paid 1,583 BAM, which he collected by selling tea, to help the victims of the devastating earthquakes in the Republic of Turkey and Syria.

In the company of his parents Edin and Amra Mehanovic, and his friend Bilal Andelija, Benjamin paid money for the victims of the earthquake.

Namely, the story of the boy Benjamin, a seventh-grade student at the “Skender Kulenovic” Primary School in Dobrinja, Sarajevo, who sells tea at his small stand in the square and thus collects money to help the earthquake-affected areas, went around the region, and the humane gesture of the young Sarajevo resident also appeared in the Turkish media.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sadik Babur Girgin, visited Benjamin last week at the very place where he sells tea to passers-by in Dobrinja. Girgin thanked Benjamin for all his efforts to help the victims of the earthquake.

The extent to which Benjamin’s story was quickly spread in Turkey is also confirmed by the fact that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, after a recent meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiHElmedin Konakovic in Ankara, also thanked the 12-year-old boy for his efforts to help the victims of the earthquake.

“Everything aside, we see love, you saw in the news, our 12-year-old brother Benjamin Mehanovic sells tea on the street and collects help, and I want to thank him,” Cavusoglu said on that occasion.
