Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed satisfaction with the visit of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, also thanking for the continuous and partnership support of BiH in the political and socio-economic field, and especially on the Euro-Atlantic path.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized Germany’s interest in the development of BiH and confirmed that Germany will continue to do everything to ensure the continuation of BiH’s path to the EU.

The political situation in BiH was discussed, as well as the arrival of the new High Representative Christian Schmidt in BiH, where the extremely important role of the OHR when it comes to implementing the necessary reforms in BiH was emphasized.

Satisfaction was expressed with the bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Germany, which are very good, friendly and without open issues, and that we should continue to work on their improvement.

Germany fully supports the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and believes that it is necessary to implement reforms that will lead BiH further towards the EU and NATO, and is committed to helping BiH and the region through the Berlin Process.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany informed the members of the Presidency of BiH that the initiative for regional cooperation ‘mini schengen’, which was also discussed, is not part of the Berlin process.

Members of the BiH Presidency said that, when it comes to regional economic cooperation, they support the last signed agreements from the Berlin Process Summit in Sofia, by which BiH joins the Common Regional Market and the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

The interlocutors agreed that the Dayton Peace Agreement is not a document from which one can choose what one wants to apply, but must be fully respected.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany pointed out that Germany rejects any changes to the borders, and expresses its disappointment with the various “non-papers” made on this basis.

The importance of the realization of 14 priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission was emphasized, as well as the obligations from the reform program.
