B&H Association of Unemployed People Will Organize Peaceful Protests on 15 April

udruzenje-nezaposlenihPresident of B&H Association of Unemployed People Amir Spaho announced yesterday in a press conference in Sarajevo that the Association will organize peaceful protests on 15 April in front of the FB&H Parliament.

According to him, the catastrophic situation in the country and the “terrible attitude” of the government towards citizens and unemployed people are the reason for the protests.

“We decided to protest on 15 April because on that day the thematic session of the FB&H Parliament on Amendments to the FB&H Constitution will be held. The administration throughout B&H should be kept to a minimum and thus the saved funds to be used for employment, and this can be done by amendments to the constitution”, said Spaho.

He emphasized that the Association has more than 1.000 members, and the protests will be peaceful and with no traffic or blockades.

The Coordinator of the Association Hasan Sejdić calls on all the unemployed citizens and dissatisfied workers and students to support the protest on Tuesday.

He pointed out that unemployed people are the most vulnerable category of the B&H population. Besides not having a job, they cannot obtain a visa and to go work abroad and they do not get any support from the Employment Department.

“I have required from the Director of Employment Department to classify unemployed people into active and passive in accordance to their engagement to the job search, but this cannot be done in accordance with the existing laws”, said Sejdić.

According to his opinion, active unemployed people should be considered those who apply for jobs and those who are ready to get additional qualifications and to move due to the job and they should receive “every possible” help from the Employment Department.
