The Agency for certification of halal quality entered in the year 2015 as a member of the Standards and Metrology Institute for the Islamic Countries (SMIIC) of the Organization of Islamic cooperation. It was decided so at the 7th session of the General Assembly of SMIIC, held in November 2014. in Istanbul.
The mentioned Institute is an institution working on harmonization and establishing new standards as well as on eliminating obstacles in the process of trading between the countries of OIC (Organization of the Islamic conference). It is also crating schemes of certification and accreditation in order for the trade exchange between the countries members to become more efficient.
