B&H Presidency Members Received Montenegrin Minister of Foreign Affairs

predsjedništvo bihMembers of the B&H Presidency received today in Sarajevo the Vice President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro Igor Lukšić. They said that the visit is a continuation of good cooperation and meetings at the highest level between B&H and Montenegro.

The political relations between the two countries were evaluated as very good with room for improvement of cooperation in the areas of road and rail infrastructure, economy and tourism.

During the meeting it was said that the bilateral relations of B&H and Montenegro is an example of good cooperation of countries in the region and encouraging for further development between all countries in the region, especially in the context of European integration aspirations.

They spoke of the signing of an agreement between B&H and Montenegro, and it was said that preparations are being finalized for the signing of an agreement on borders, which could be expected by the end of September of this year.

They mentioned the need to finalize soon the agreement on dual citizenship, and the agreement on the certification of agricultural products, which would contribute to improving economic cooperation.

It was also said that in the area of tourism, there is a need to accelerate the signing of agreements that would improve tourist offers.

During talks on European integration, Lukšić said that Montenegro awaits the opening of the toughtest challenges in talks with the EU and hopes that the recently adopted constitutional changes would speed up the negotiating process with the EU.

Members of the B&H Presidency said that it is in the interest of both countries to make more progress on the path towards EU integration and that they need to intensify regional initiatives, in order to expand the economic space for large investments and funds.

It was said at the end of the meeting that the B&H Presidency will support an initiative that could improve cooperation between our countries and hopes for the continuation of good cooperation between B&H and Montenegro, announced the B&H Presidency.
