Academician Adnan Mehonic is the first Bosnian to be included in the global list of 35 talented young innovators in the world under the age of 35 and ready to change the world by the magazine "MIT Technology Review".

Quality of work

A Sarajevan living in London, a professor at the University of London's Faculty of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, was on the list, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin and other brilliant minds of the world.

“I feel happy and motivated, especially because of the commission that selected the list of winners. Scientists are used to the fact that the quality of their work is in a constant process of evaluation, and external confirmation is a source of additional motivation for future work,” Mehonic said for Avaz.

Young BH scientist, who began his education in BiH and continued in Great Britain, achieved incredible results in the development of memristors, an electronic device that will suppress today's transistor, revolutionize the development of computing, artificial intelligence, and thus all areas of modern man's life, Avaz writes.

Mehonic is developing memristors out of silicon oxide, the material most commonly used in computer chips. His most straightforward goal is to make dense, low-power, high-speed memory. More ambitiously, he is using the physics of memristors to implement in-memory computing and brain-like functionalities for future neuromorphic systems.
