marathonParticipants of the third cycling marathon “Alija Izetbegovic” arrived in Sarajevo, and they will lay flowers on his grave in Kovaci in the framework of marking the 13th anniversary of the death of our First President Alija Izetbegovic.

Marathon was organized by recreational cycling club “Japod” from Bihac in cooperation with the Museum “Alija Izetbegovic”, and cyclists from Bihac are driving 310 km long road to pay tribute to the First President for the third year in a row.

Ahmet Alibabic, one of the participants of the marathon, said that they started their trip on Monday, and it had two stages (Bihac – Jajce and Jajce – Sarajevo).

“This is becoming a tradition, we believe that the number of cyclists will increase from year to year. We are very happy and proud because it is an honor and privilege to drive this marathon and sympathize with all true patriots of this country. Our respect for the President is great. The President often visited Bihac, he loved this city and Bihac loved him,” he said.

Upon arrival in Sarajevo, cyclists visited the grave of Alija Izetbegovic in Kovaci and paid the tribute with a minute of silence and reciting Fatiha.
