BiH Border Police Investigating Dodik’s Border Crossing

The Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by order of Director Mirko Kuprešaković, is conducting an investigation into the crossing of the state border by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

Also, all measures and actions are being taken to determine the circumstances and the manner in which the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, crossed the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia, announced the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In connection with the mentioned event, the BiH Border Police will inform the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and cooperate with all law enforcement agencies.

They further stated that the Border Police of BiH, as an administrative organization within the Ministry of Security of BiH, with operational independence, established to perform police duties related to the supervision and control of crossing the border of BiH and other duties prescribed by law, acts in accordance with its competences and will take all available measures to protect the state border and preserve the security of BiH.

Also, the BiH Border Police monitors the situation at the state border and undertakes measures and actions in accordance with positive legal regulations and its own plans, and continues to improve cooperation with other police agencies and authorities, as well as with neighboring countries, in order to prevent illegal crossings of the state border and other types of cross-border crime, such as people smuggling, the fight against terrorism, human trafficking, drug smuggling, arms and explosives trade, forgery of documents and the like, all with the aim of creating a safe environment for all citizens of BiH and the region and our progress in achieving European standards and strengthening common European security, the press release concluded.
