The most pronounced problem in the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a large understaffing, considering that this agency lacks 600 border police officers, it was pointed out at the meeting of the delegation of the Commission for Defense and Security with the representatives of the Border Police in Bosanska Gradiška.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that in relation to this problem, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of the Republic of Srpska, the Agency for Investigation and Protection (SIPA), as well as the cantonal MUPs provide great help, which is particularly expressed in preventing the entry of illegal migrants, it was announced. from the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Border Police of BiH assessed that amendments to the Law on Police Officers, as well as the addition of the Rulebook on Internal Organization and a number of other by-laws, would be necessary to speed up the process of filling the Border Police of BiH with the aim of more effective field work and a stronger fight against cross-border crime and illegal migration.

The delegation of the Commission for Defense and Security consisted of Sanja Vulić, Jasmin Imamović and Slavko Matić, and the Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH Boško Šiljegović.
