BiH to consider the Recognition of Kosovo?

Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak stated that the invitation by the Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj for Sarajevo to recognize the independence of Kosovo will have no effect.

Crnadak stated that BiH will not make a decision on recognition of Kosovo, and it will not even consider it until the end of the current mandate of the Council of Ministers.

“There is no recognition of Kosovo in BiH, not because of the attitude of Bosniaks and Croats, but because of the position of the representatives of the RS, and those from the parties that form the government at the level of BiH and those from the opposition at the level of BiH, which are in power in the RS. They have a unique stand on this issue and there is no chance that this situation will change,” said the head of BH diplomacy.

He noted that there is a consent in BiH to try to simplify the visa regime, the flow of people and goods, especially for business people with the aim to conduct more economic activities.

“We need to try to simplify a lot of things that would make the life of ordinary people easier in general. However, when it comes to changing the stand of BiH on the issue of recognition of Kosovo, that will not be discussed for sure,” concluded Crnadak.

On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Bosniaks in the Government of Kosovo, Haradinaj invited Bosniaks on Kosovo to send a message to the official Sarajevo “to take the necessary steps to recognize the independence of Kosovo,” as reported by RTK 2.

As noted, he also proposed to start with the process of recognition of documents in order to allow citizens to move freely.
