BiH Council of Ministers concludes the Session

The Council of Ministers did not consider the decision to suspend customs rates on imports of goods originating from the United States today, because there was no agreement on this in part of the Collegium, said after the session, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac.

“The decision in favor of suspending customs rates, which was a burning issue, was not considered, because there was no agreement in part of the Collegium of the Council of Ministers. I believe that the decision to suspend customs rates is good for talks with the US administration at a time when the US has open customs issues with other countries,” Košarac told reporters in Sarajevo.

Košarac explained that this decision, proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, implied a temporary ban, or suspension, of customs rates, which means that customs duties on goods from the US would not be paid and would be zero percent.

“Our assessment suggests that this would be a good negotiating position for BiH in negotiations with the US administration,” said Košarac.

He stated that it is important to continue communication on this issue.

The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted today the Report on the Execution of the Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Obligations of BiH for 2024, which will be submitted to the Presidency and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

Total revenues, receipts and financing of the institutions of BiH last year amounted to 1,333,319,074 BAM, of which 1,020,500,000 BAM were revenues from the Single Account of the Indirect Taxation Administration of BiH.

Total expenditures of the institutions of BiH and expenditures for financing the external debt of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024 amounted to 1,332,886,779 BAM.

One billion and 332.89 million BAM were paid on the basis of external state debt obligations in 2024, thus fully fulfilling all obligations undertaken, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.
