Based on the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina imposed the largest first-degree sentences for human trafficking and related criminal offenses so far. 21 years of imprisonment were imposed in the case of two accused citizens of Afghanistan.

In the case related to Amanullah Ishakil, known as “Boxer”, born in 2001 in Afghanistan, and Qais Khan, known as “Tiger”, born in 2001 in Ningahar, also a citizen of Afghanistan, the BiH Prosecutor’s Office proved the responsibility of the defendants for criminal acts of international human trafficking and human smuggling, and proved the responsibility of the accused for serious sexual abuse of a minor, also a migrant and a foreign citizen, who was in an extremely difficult situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Given that they were sentenced to 10 and 11 years in prison by the first-instance verdict, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH welcomes the tightening of the penal policy for these crimes, and the Task Force for the fight against human trafficking and illegal migration has been informed about the case, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH announced.
