Osman Husejnović from Brčko was legally sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for attempting to kill an acquaintance whose initials are N.A, the Brčko District Prosecutor’s Office announced today.
The prosecution proved that Husejnović tried to kill an acquaintance of N.A with shots from a pistol two years ago in the village of Prutače , the statement states, adding that this is the highest sentence for attempted murder that has been confirmed so far before the District Court of Appeal, which rejected the appeal in its entirety.
On March 10, 2021, around 3:00 a.m., in the immediate vicinity of the “Omer prom” shopping center, he shot N.A. with a pistol that he illegally possessed, intending to kill him.
As stated in the indictment, which the Prosecution fully proved, Husejnović was in N.A. fired two shots, one of which hit the injured party in the stomach, causing severe, life-threatening injuries. The attempted murder was preceded by a short argument between the two, which continued the mutual conflict that had started earlier in Brčko.
Upon completion of the investigation, the Brčko District Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against Husejnović, accusing him of the criminal offense of attempted murder and unauthorized acquisition, possession or sale of weapons or essential weapon parts.
In January of this year, the Basic Court of Brčko District sentenced him to a single prison term of seven and a half years.
The Prosecution is conducting another investigation against Husejnović for the attempted murder of his wife R.Š. on June 4 of this year in the same settlement.
Husejnović is already serving an 11-month prison sentence to which he was sentenced at the end of last year for the unauthorized production and distribution of drugs, according to a statement from the Brčko District Prosecutor’s Office.
