Today in Brussels, representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina will talk with European Union officials about EU-BiH relations within the stabilization and association process. Earlier it was announced that the representatives of BiH in Brussels should also present plans for the de-escalation of the current political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The BiH delegation is led by the chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, who will meet with the EU’s high representative for foreign policy and security, Josep Borrell. In addition to Kristo, the delegation includes Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac, Minister of Defense Zukan Helez, Director of the European Integration Directorate Edin Dilberović, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the BiH Mission to the EU.

Defense Minister Zukan Helez met yesterday in Brussels with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhely.

Elez announced that at the meeting an overview was made of what the current Council of Ministers of BiH has done in the period from its formation until today in the implementation of 14 priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission and reform processes. “We also exchanged opinions about the biggest problem in BiH, which is the attack on the constitutional order of BiH and Milorad Dodik, the president of Republika Srpska. It is completely clear to them,” Helez said.

He announced that a joint document between the European Commission and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, offered by the EU, will be agreed today.

Stating that it is a document that gives an overview of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Helez stated that the document contains several things – from the issue of blocking the work of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the call to everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina to recognize the genocide in Srebrenica, respect for all victims from the past war, to the adoption all 14 priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission.

“In October, they will make a cross-section of what we have done,” said Helez, adding that everyone in Brussels is willing to help BiH join the EU as soon as possible.
