BiH Minister of Security Nenad Nešić held a press conference today after meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, Filip Adžić. One of the questions was to comment on the recent case of female students who glorified convicted war criminals, after which they received a scholarship to continue their studies in Belgrade. Nešić said that “it’s unheard of for someone to be judged for their opinion” and he raised three fingers in the air to prove that “he doesn’t see what’s in dispute.”
“It is truly outrageous that today we have an open case against the girls who expressed their opinions and views because they raised three fingers. Here Nešić will raise three fingers. Here you go, open a case against me. I don’t see what’s controversial,” Nešić said when asked to comment on the recent case of female students glorifying war criminals on July 11 in Sarajevo.
“I think that we in Bosnia and Herzegovina have more problems here than who has what opinion. Opinion cannot cause any pain and cause crime as well as harm the state. Obviously someone wants to raise national tensions. I am in favor of raising pensions, salaries and jointly agreeing and contracting. I have nothing against anyone expressing himself as he wishes, be it Serb, Bosniak, Croat. I respect all victims and condemn all crimes,” said Nešić.

“I really didn’t hear her say that. I don’t think it’s right to judge a girl who is at the beginning of her life and put her in a situation where she is threatened with lynching. “Just as I would protect girls of Serbian nationality, I would also protect girls of Bosniak nationality,” said Nešić.
He added that “we have to get out of the period 1992-1995”.
“The key moment: We have to leave the period 1992-1995. Gentlemen, we are living in 2023. I don’t want to be a prisoner of that period. In that period I was a minor, today I am fully 45. I want to live in the year 2023. I want to lead Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the EU, I also want Serbia to join the EU. I want us to be without borders, so that our children are not at the border for three hours. That’s a problem, it’s not a problem who raised three fingers and said: God help or Salam Aleik”.
“Let’s respect all the victims, I’m ready to bow to all the victims, but I’m not ready to pardon anyone’s crimes. Don’t blame me, but since January, as a minister, I have been trying to introduce some normality, that we want a higher standard in the EU, respect all victims and condemn all crimes. I want to hear that from every minister. All victims are the same, every mother’s pain is the same. Every tear is heavy”, N1 reports.
