On January 7, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, received the ambassador of the State of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rezeq Namoor, on a farewell visit.
Minister Konaković expressed his sincere gratitude to Ambassador Namoora for his dedicated work, personal commitment and exceptional cooperation during his eleven-year diplomatic mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which significantly contributed to the strengthening of friendly and diplomatic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Palestine. He pointed out that the cooperation with Ambassador Namoor was open, substantive and friendly.
During the meeting, Minister Konaković emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the activities of its institutions and diplomatic activities, managed to contribute to the international hearing of the truth about the situation in the Gaza Strip, the suffering of civilians and the crimes against the Palestinian people. He said that the State of Palestine can always count on the support of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country that itself has survived war destruction and civilian casualties.
The minister then recalled numerous meetings and contacts with Palestinian officials in the past period, and announced a visit to the State of Palestine as soon as the conditions are met.
Ambassador Namoora thanked the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their cooperation and support during his mandate, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister Konaković, emphasizing their exceptional contribution to making the truth about the situation in the Gaza Strip heard on the international stage. He also pointed to the fact that Gaza and the Palestinian people are still going through an extremely difficult period, faced with the consequences of destruction, floods, cold and difficult humanitarian conditions, in which a large number of people live in improvised tents.
Ambassador Namoora, along with his gratitude, also expressed his belief that friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Palestine will continue to develop in the future to their mutual benefit.
