The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met today with the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, Samir Abdullah Nass, as part of his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, the importance of strengthening relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bahrain was emphasized, with a special emphasis on the economic cooperation that already exists, but it is necessary to further strengthen it and develop it into a structured partnership through institutional mechanisms and joint actions.
Minister Konaković emphasized Bosnia and Herzegovina’s interest in attracting investors from Bahrain, especially in the fields of tourism, halal food production and agriculture, with the assessment that cooperation can be improved through clearly defined plans and joint initiatives. He particularly pointed to tourism as an area of common interest, recalling that the number of visits from Bahrain to Bosnia and Herzegovina has increased in the past period. Seasonal charter flights on the route Sarajevo – Manama, together with the decision of the BiH Council of Ministers on the temporary abolition of the visa regime during the summer season, contributed to the growth of tourist arrivals and the strengthening of mutual ties.
The interlocutors assessed that there are significant opportunities for strengthening trade and increasing investments, especially in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, wood and metal industry, agriculture, tourism and banking. It is necessary to intensify bilateral contacts through the organization of investment forums, business meetings and economic delegations.
President Nass expressed the readiness of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce to be an active partner in connecting businessmen and implementing joint projects.
