Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković (People and Justice Party) spoke yesterday about possible additional checks of state ministers, stating that the Law on the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina is clear and that some ministers have a specific job that requires access to classified information.
“This probably refers to the Ministers of Security and Defense Nenad Nešić (DNS) and Zukan Helez (SDP) and they will be checked in accordance with the laws. If any of the ministers are found to be legally prevented from holding this position, none of them will hold the position,” said Konaković.
Today, Konaković commented on the process of forming the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stating that the election to the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina caused some turbulence among the coalition partners, but he believes that this has additionally strengthened their relations and that the situation is now clear.
“We have the majority, the SDP president Nermin Nikšić will be the Prime Minister of the FBiH Government and that will happen as soon as possible,” said Konaković, saying that there is also a mechanism to annual any possible blockade of that process.
The blockade, he points out, must not happen, and he expressed the belief that the high representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, would also react to it.
Asked where his first official visit would be, he said that he should go to Brussels at the beginning of next week and talk with officials of the European Union and that for technical reasons his wish to first visit Zagreb, then Belgrade, and then to go to Montenegro will not be possible next week.
