Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH AF), Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, attended a tour of the Nimitz-class supercarrier of the United States Navy ‘USS George H.W. Bush’ in Split at the invitation of the United States of America and Rear Admiral Dennis Velez, commander of the group of ten aircraft carriers.

This ship is 333 meters long and can carry 90 planes and 20 helicopters, and it is one of the youngest American aircraft carriers by year of manufacture.

A ship built in 2009 can sail for more than 20 years without refueling. The ship can accommodate as many as 6,000 crew members.

The visit to the region provides an opportunity to strengthen a strong partnership with allies to work together for a stable, secure, and prosperous Europe.

Rear Admiral Denniz Velez emphasized the importance of the arrival of the legendary aircraft carrier for the purpose of defending against aggression and strengthening alliances with partners.

On that occasion, General Mašović attended a working lunch with Admiral Dennis Velez, during which the regional-military political situation was discussed, and the full support of the USA to all partners was expressed.

Admiral Dennis Velez, commander of the group of ten aircraft carriers, sent a clear message of support for the BiH Armed Forces in the process of NATO integration.

The delegation, in addition to General Mašović, also included the military attache of the USA in BiH, Brigadier Eric Adams, and the personal assistant of the chief of the Armed Forces of BiH, Colonel Asmir Sarajlić, as well as David Haugen from the US Embassy in BiH, announced the Press Service of the BiH Ministry of Defense.
