The representative of FIPA in Japan Shigehiko Nishihama presented BiH on the Tourism Expo Japan 2017, the largest fair of tourism in this country, which was held in Tokyo from September 21 to 24, 2017.

BiH was presented at the fair in the framework of the joint exhibition space under the slogan “Balkan – Your Next Destination in Europe” together with Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia. It was organized by the Japan Agency for Cooperation JICA, which also provided promotional brochures translated into the Japanese language.

A representative of FIPA, Shigehiko Nishihama, held a large number of presentations on BiH as a tourist destination during the four days of the fair, together with representatives of the Embassy of BiH in Tokyo. A large number of visitors and representatives of tourist agencies in Japan responded positively to the presentation of BiH.

Nishihama will soon start with negotiations with several Japan tourist agencies on the organization of visits to BiH as part of visits to neighboring countries. He will also continue working on tourism promotion of BH in the Japanese market with the Embassy of BiH in Tokyo, considering the good relations with representatives of Japanese tourism sector.

Currently, around 6,000 tourists from Japan visit BiH every year. From FIPA noted that the export of wine from BiH to Japan started thanks to the efforts and work of Nishihama, which represents a significant step forward in the export of BH products to the highly demanding market of Japan.
