During yesterday’s raid in the wider area of the Blažuj temporary reception center, the Service for Affairs with Foreigners issued a decision on the expulsion of 19 persons and determined the measures to place them under supervision at the Immigration Center in East Sarajevo, from where they will be removed from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the action in the early hours of the morning, authorized officials of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners participated, together with police officers of the Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Border Police of BiH, the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton.
The action was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton, the Service for Affairs with Foreigners announced.
They added that the Service for Affairs with Foreigners will, in the coming period, continue to take measures and actions within its competence, and strengthen activities and cooperation with other police agencies on the territory of BiH in terms of control of foreign citizens, all with the aim of increasing the level of security as in temporary reception centers Blažuj and Ušivak, as well as in the area of Sarajevo Canton and the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
SIPA announced today that the action was carried out with the aim of finding persons who are staying there illegally, as well as finding illegal weapons, narcotics and other objects that originate from criminal acts or can be used to endanger the safety of users and employees of the Center, and to identify the organizers migrant smuggling groups or associations.
