zlaja u srbijiDeputy Chairman of BiH Council of Ministers and BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija met yesterday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivan Mrkić, president of government of Serbia Ivica Dačić, first vice-president of the government of Serbia and minister of defence of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.

During the talks, they concluded that it is needed for the border commissions to meet as soon as possible. It was noted that there is a solid basis for expert talks, concerning the fact that two countries already have initialled agreement on border issues.

It was agreed that they intensify communication between relevant institutions, and through bilateral political consultations at the level of deputies of ministers, in order to make an official data and in order to make all necessary preparations for the joint session of two governments by the end of this year.

By that time, bilateral agreements would be agreed upon on the expert level, among them the property-rights agreement, agreement on border and other bilateral issues.

It was agreed that the competent cooperation is followed by regulation of relations,  which is confirmed by over 50 signed agreements, from economic, scientific and technological cooperation to consular protection and mutual provision of consular services in third countries. Around 10 agreements are in the procedure of making, and two, safety agreement and Agreement on extradition are ready to be signed.

Lagumdžija has called minister Mrkić on trilateral meeting of ministers of foreign affairs of BiH, Serbia and Turkey, and they only need to agree upon the date of the meeting.

On all meetings, it was concluded that the signed Protocol on Cooperation of Prosecutor’s offices of BiH and Serbia must be consistently implemented. Concerning that issue, the recent arrest of BiH citizen Honda in Serbia, and after the signing of the agreement is a breach of the agreement.

In that context, they’ve noted that they’ll do everything to make this case end in accordance to the aforementioned agreement, which means that in those cases, BiH institutions have jurisdiction over that issue. That will be the only signal that we are ready to work, and not just to talk in vain about the rule of the law.

They also talked about the cooperation in the fight against organised crime and systematic corruption based on war profiteering and transitional loot.
