Representatives of the BiH Ministry of Defense and the BiH Armed Forces began in Sarajevo a two-day working meeting with representatives of the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. They will discuss responses to the questionnaire for the overall PfP (Partnership for Peace) interoperability of the fourth cycle of the Planning and Review Process (PARP), and the current status of the document “Pregled Odbrane BiH” (Overview of Defense).

Apart from the representatives of the BiH Ministry of Defense and BiH Armed Forces and an expert team from the NATO headquarters in Brussels, representatives from NATO headquarters in Sarajevo, part of the military mission of BiH to NATO in Brussels, and representatives of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs and BiH Ministry of Security will attend the working meeting.

The Acting Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces for Operations Major General Mirko Tepšić in his opening speech said that the PARP is a key mechanisms of the PfP program, which allows for the maintenance and development of its capacities and capabilities.

The BiH Armed Forces have, according to him, “achieved significant results in the reform system of defense and are committed to implementing all the tasks of the BiH Armed Forces”.

Tepšić expressed his belief that this meeting would have a positive effect “that would produce guidelines for future work of the defense system and continue the process of defense reform, and it would point to areas that need to be improved”.

It is scheduled that tomorrow an expert team of NATO from Bruseels, led by Frank Boland, will meet with the BiH Minister of Defense Zekerijah Osmić and his Deputies Marina Marina Pendeš and Mirko Okolić.
