The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turkovic, ordered the Embassy of BiH in Pakistan and the competent sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to take measures to help the citizens of BiH who may still be in Afghanistan.

Minister Turkovic, among other things, gave an order to gather information and to open a 24-hour telephone line of the embassy for all citizens who need help.

It is necessary to collect information on how many BH citizens are currently on the territory of Afghanistan, under what conditions they are and whether they are ready to evacuate. We invite all those who are in such a situation or have information that is helpful to contact the BiH Embassy in Pakistan or the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The MFA of BiH will also establish contacts with allied countries in order to achieve cooperation in resolving the new situation and possible evacuations, it is stated in the instruction of Minister Turkovic.

All BH citizens can contact the Embassy of BiH in Pakistan at the following telephone numbers +9251 265 40 20 or +9251 265 40 18.

Turkovic pointed out that the situation is difficult and that additional complication is expected, so it is necessary for the MFA to include all the necessary and possible capacities in order for none of the BiH citizens to be endangered in any way.

The BiH presidency has previously decided to withdraw members of the BiH Armed Forces from the mission in Afghanistan, where they operated within ISAF.
