BiH Presidency Member: BiH is the sole Holder of the entire State Property

As a member of the BiH Presidency, I would like to clearly underline that, according to the provisions of the BiH Constitution, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina has continued the international legal subjectivity of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thus, the state is the owner of the entire state property, said Denis Bećirović, a member of the BiH Presidency, in a written statement to the media.

As he pointed out, “Milorad Dodik must know that the entities and other lower levels of government can use the property they need to exercise their individual competencies, to the extent that they could be authorized by the law passed by the BiH Parliamentary Assembly”.

“Also, Dodik should stop making meaningless statements in which he says that he will not ‘share the property with Bosnia and Herzegovina’, because he cannot share what is not his. The state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and state property are sacred things that cannot be the subject of any political trade,” wrote Bećirović.

He emphasizes that only the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina has the exclusive authority to regulate all issues related to state property through the decisions of competent state bodies and that entities, as well as lower levels of government, must respect those decisions.

The unquestionable continuity between the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and today’s state of Bosnia and Herzegovina points to the conclusion that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the Succession Agreement, was given the state property specified in that Agreement, i.e. that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner of that property.

No baseless statements of Milorad Dodik can change elementary constitutional facts, Bećirović stated.
