BiH Presidency Member: We will never give up on Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić said today that Independence Day is one of the most important dates for every country in the world and that Bosnia and Herzegovina has two very important dates, Independence Day and Statehood Day.

He said this at the Eternal Flame in Sarajevo, where a large number of delegations laid flowers on the occasion of March 1 – BiH Independence Day.

“This day is important because it tells us that we have an independent and sovereign state, although we often know that things in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not exactly like that. It is also important because of everything that followed, namely the aggression against BiH and numerous crimes, massacres, including genocide, in order to defend that same independence,” he pointed out.

He added that on March 1, 1992, he did not imagine that things would unfold in such a way.

Komšić emphasized that the generation to which he belongs defended the country, and it is up to new generations to build it.

He expressed the certainty that Bosnia and Herzegovina will one day be better than it is today.

He added that today he does not defend himself against attacks that have changed form, from tanks and rifles to political pressure.

“We will never give up on BiH,” concluded Komšić.

A large number of delegations laid flowers in front of the Eternal Flame, including Denis Bećirović, member of the BiH Presidency, as well as delegations from the governments of FBiH, Sarajevo Canton, political parties and anti-fascist organizations, and other non-governmental organizations.
