The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, and the members of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić and Željka Cvijanović, sent telegrams of condolences to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the occasion of the attack on a high school in the province of Kahramanmaras.

Bećirović stated in his telegram that this attack shook not only the citizens of the Republic of Turkey, but also the wider international public.

“With great sadness, I received the news of the tragic attack on a high school in Kahramanmaras, in which the lives of innocent students and teachers were lost. On behalf of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and personally, I extend to you, the families of the victims, as well as to the friendly people of the Republic of Turkey, my deepest condolences, with wishes for a speedy and successful recovery of all those injured. Our thoughts and hearts are with the families who lost their loved ones. Please accept my sincere condolences and solidarity,” Bećirović stated.

In his telegram to the Turkish President, Komšić stated that he received the news of the attack on a high school with deep sadness, in which the lives of young people who were just beginning their journey in life were cut short.

“The loss of children and young people in such tragic circumstances is a pain that goes beyond words and affects not only their families, but also the entire society. It is difficult to find comfort in the face of such a tragedy. I extend my deepest condolences to you, the families of the victims, and the people of the Republic of Turkey. Our thoughts are with the parents, friends, and all those affected by this tragedy. Bosnia and Herzegovina sincerely sympathizes with the people of Turkey in these difficult times,” said Komšić.

In her telegram of condolences to the President of the Turkish people, Cvijanović emphasized that the loss of young people in schools in Kahramanmaras and the Siverek district represents an irreparable loss not only for the families of the victims, but also for the entire society.

“In these difficult times for you and your country, I extend my deepest condolences to you, the families of the victims, as well as to all citizens of the Republic of Turkey. I extend my sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured,” reads the telegram from BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović.
