Acting Director of the Sarajevo International Airport Public Company, Dino Selimović, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anita Shaqiri, where discussions focused on the potential establishment of new air routes between Sarajevo and Albanian destinations.

The talks revisited the possibility of launching direct flights connecting Sarajevo with Tirana and Vlore, two key locations in Albania. Such routes are seen as a significant step toward enhancing tourism, strengthening business ties and improving overall connectivity between the two countries.

Both sides highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in the Western Balkans, as well as the shared European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania. They emphasized that improved transport links are essential for economic development and deeper integration within the region.

The establishment of direct air connections is expected to boost mobility, create new market opportunities and intensify cooperation between businesses, tourism sectors and institutions. The initiative was recognized as a concrete contribution to regional stability and integration, as well as to the promotion of common European values and strategic goals shared by both countries.
