More than 2,300 flights have been canceled or delayed in the US due to a major winter storm, the air traffic monitoring portal “Flytower” announced.
As specified, 1,446 domestic and international flights have been canceled, and more than 870 have been delayed. In the Washington region alone, over 780 flights have been canceled.
More than 300,000 households and businesses are experiencing power supply problems.
Half of those affected are in the states of Kentucky and Virginia, while residents of Indiana, West Virginia and Illinois are also facing power supply problems.
The US National Weather Service warned that a major winter storm is moving through the mid-Atlantic region and that the heaviest impact is expected in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Washington and Delaware.
