BiH records significant Increase in Number of Tourists

1,621,831 tourists were registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 11 months of last year, which is 18 percent more than in the same period a year earlier, according to the data of the BiH Statistics Agency.

In this period, tourists achieved 3,431,903 overnight stays, which is 13.7 percent more than in 11 months of 2022.

The number of overnight stays by domestic tourists for 11 months last year was 5.8 percent lower than in the same period in 2022, while the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists was 25.5 percent higher.

In the total number of overnight stays, the participation of domestic tourists is 31.1 percent, and foreign tourists 68.9 percent.

In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were made by tourists from Croatia 14.2 percent, followed by tourists from Serbia 12.3 percent, Turkey 8.1 percent, Slovenia 6.7 percent, Saudi Arabia 5.3 percent, Germany 4.8 percent , the USA 3.4 percent, and the United Arab Emirates 3.1 percent, while tourists from other countries accounted for a total of 42.1 percent of overnight stays.

Regarding the length of stay of foreign tourists in BiH in 11 months, Kuwait is in first place with 3.8 nights, followed by Qatar with 3.3 nights, Egypt and Ireland with 3.2 nights each, the United Arab Emirates and Iran with three each. , France, Albania and Bahrain with 2.9 nights each.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was in hotels and similar accommodation with a participation of 94.2 percent.
